Robert Cochran

Chief Solutions Officer

Rob Cochran is a seasoned leader with a distinguished background in cybersecurity, law enforcement, and military service. Before joining Bawn, Rob held pivotal roles at top-tier organizations, where he honed his expertise in driving transformative change through emerging technologies.

As Director of Partnerships and Alliances at ImagineX Consulting, Rob spearheaded initiatives to empower businesses in leveraging cutting-edge technologies for strategic growth. Prior to this, he served as Director of Forensics and Incident Response at Stroz Freidberg, where he tackled complex cyber threats head-on.

Rob's career spans over two decades with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he made indelible contributions to national security and cybercrime investigations. Beginning in 2002, Rob distinguished himself as the lead FBI Cyber investigator in the Florida Panhandle, demonstrating exceptional leadership as a member of the FBI Jacksonville's SWAT team and Coordinator of the Panhandle Chapter of InfraGard.

In 2009, Rob's expertise led him to FBIHQ in Washington, D.C., where he assumed the role of Program Manager in the Cyber Criminal Section of the FBI's Cyber Division. His responsibilities included coordinating investigations across multiple FBI Field Offices and leading the Cyber Division's Eastern Europe Threat Focus Cell, combating cybercrime and money laundering on an international scale.

Rob's leadership journey continued in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as Supervisory Special Agent of the Cyber Squad for seven years. In this role, he oversaw a myriad of cyber and technical investigations while also managing the office's Crisis Management and SWAT programs. Promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge in 2019, Rob provided strategic oversight for all Criminal Investigative programs in the Norfolk Field Office.

With a commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing, Rob remains dedicated to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity advancements. His unique blend of experience, from military service as an Infantry Officer to his tenure with the FBI, equips him with invaluable insights into combating threats from criminal groups and state-sponsored actors.

Prior to the FBI, Rob served in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer. He is a 1993 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He’s been married for 30 years (to an obvious Saint), and has two sons.
